We would like to inform our customers that, as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our service and sustainability practices, we have made the decision to close our Palmerston North distribution centre. Effective 7th July 2025, all deliveries for our North Island customers will be fulfilled directly from our Auckland warehouse.
This change brings a number of benefits to you, including eliminating split orders—ensuring you receive your deliveries more efficiently, with most orders delivered in one shipment to you the next day. Additionally, this transition allows us to start to introduce sustainable packaging that many of our customers requested in our recent survey. We plan to commence using wool blankets for our packaging, which will be replacing the existing Envirofoil materials, furthering our commitment to a greener future.
Several of our customers have already seamlessly transitioned to deliveries from Auckland, experiencing no impact on their service levels. We remain dedicated to providing the same high standard of service that you expect from us. As we continue to solidify our footprint in the wholesaling space, we look forward to strengthening our partnership with you and working together toward a more sustainable future. The leadership team are fully committed to supporting the Palmerston North employees throughout the site closure. There are opportunities in both the Christchurch and Auckland centres and we’re offering positions to our impacted team members in both of those locations, with support for relocation if they accept the offer.
